Reconstruction of a polystyrene square cylinder

Reconstruction without any regularization (left)

The reconstruction algorithm use a Conjugate Gradient technique to solve the nonlinear system. More informations can be found in the paper [1, 4, 12].

Reconstruction with Tikhonov regularization (middle)

This regularizing technique removes the noise picks, but the resulting image is oversmoothed.

Reconstruction with edge-preserving regularization (right)

This regularizing technique developped in our team smoothes the homogeneous areas of the image while preserving its edges.
